Going through a note of dis sort as a students of botany,it has impacted my studies about fungi and plant differences. Thank u. There are 6 kingdoms where bacteria has been split into two kingdoms:archaebacteria bacteria and eubacteria true bacteria since archaebacteria is not the same as eubacteria in many aspects and it could not fall under any other kingdom. I am a microbiologist trust me when i say they are 6 kingdoms. This realy help me alot is the only website that help me on my home work because other websites have characteristics and only a little of differences and are useless.
I realy love this website! Lol all coments are from or and mi coment is of jajaja how old is this website jajajaja. Name required. Email required. What is the main difference between plants and fungi? What separates plants from fungi? Why is fungus not a plant? What do plants fungi and bacteria have in common? What is the relationship between fungi and plants?
How are fungi related to animals? What are the two types of hyphae? What are three types of hyphae? How do hyphae spread from one area to another? What is another characteristic of hyphae? What is the purpose of hyphae? Does bacteria have a hyphae? Nutrients absorbed by the fungus then become available for other organisms which may eat fungi.
Both the plant and fungus kingdoms have some common characteristics. While both are eukaryotic and don't move, plants are autotrophic - making their own energy - and have cell walls made of cellulose, but fungi are heterotrophic - taking in food for energy - and have cell walls made of chitin.
These ferns lack true leaves and roots, but they spread by rhizomes and reproduce by spores that they produce on their leafless stems. After the sporangia eject the spores, the spores live underground where they grow into second-generation plants before maturing into aboveground whisk ferns. Ferns require several mineral nutrients to survive, which they obtain from the soil. Fern roots pump minerals into the roots, where the minerals enter the xylem, dissolve in water there and disperse throughout the plant.
A true root system consists of a primary root and secondary roots or lateral roots. Moss and mold may look similar, but they are from different parts of life's kingdom. Moss is a plant that converts sunlight and dissolved soil minerals into the energy it needs to grow and reproduce. Mold is a fungus , neither plant nor animal, and distantly related to mushrooms.
In short, a moss is a simple plant, and a lichen is a fungi - algae sandwich. Mosses are multicellular organisms with leaflets made of photosynthetic cells, just as with trees, ferns and wildflowers. Furthermore, moss poses a health risk to humans because it increases not only allergies, but also the release of toxic compounds into the air. What does MOSS mean? All photosynthesizing plants have a pigment molecule called chlorophyll.
This molecule absorbs most of the energy from the violet-blue and reddish-orange part of the light spectrum.
